Robots copy

‘The Blairs, Camerons, Osbornes and Cleggs of this world would also be surplus to requirements’

• WHILE obviously not enjoying strike action, I do have sympathy with people trying to preserve their pay and conditions particularly at this difficult time.

I also understand the concerns about jobs being removed and done by robots etc.

However as we understand robots could be used in lots of different areas there is one place where they could certainly be useful and that is replacing the boards of banks with intelligent technology.

They could hardly do worse than the failed bankers of the crash of 2008 and would save a lot of money in excess salaries.

The robots’ decision-making would not be influenced by making a fast, unsustainable, buck but would take a more balanced approach.

I am afraid though that since this would mean the Blairs, Camerons, Osbornes and Cleggs of this world would also be surplus to requirements this would never be allowed to be implemented. It would mean the end of highly paid jobs for ex-politicians for minimal work.
