• FEARS of “anti-Semitism” in the UK have reiterated an alarmist foreshadowing (past horrors as harbingers for an already determined future), which Woody Allen in Anything Else (2003) put into perspective to ease woes : “You don’t want your life to wind up as black-and-white newsreel footage scored by a cello in a minor key.”

No, Mr Allen was not being “anti-Semitic”.
