Why our vehicles have ‘become the enemy’

“As in everything, the rule is: ‘Follow the money'”
• ACCORDING to the Centre for Low Emission Construction (http://www.clec.uk/about/how-polluting-construction-industry) 34 per cent of particle emission is due to construction compared with 27 per cent from all road transport.
And this does not include the emissions generated by the construction supply train (that is, vehicles and plant).
“Transport for London is, unsurprisingly, one of the most extensive landowners across London with its miles of railway line, tube stops, bus stops and office blocks.
“TfL has been doing some very interesting work recently looking at land value capture…” (https://whoownsengland.org/2017/10/28/who-owns-central-london/).
It surely does not take a genius to work out why the powers that be have latched onto vehicles as the enemy rather than the immensely wealthy and powerful property developers and construction industries.
As in everything, the rule is: “Follow the money.”
