Who wants to sprint for the bus?

‘Why is this shelter located at such a distance from the stop?’
• YET again I appeal to Transport for London for something to happen that should be occurring already but is not.
First is buses being brought into kerbs by drivers so that older people, people with pushchairs, etc, do not have to drop down to the road surface then mount the nearby kerb before getting to the pavement.
When buses are off their normal routes, for whatever reason, can TfL give their drivers clear and consistent instructions that the bus-stops on their new routes can be used?
My greatest use of buses is the 88 route. Very recently we have noted the seats plus shelter at the stop at the Victoria Street end of Marsham Street on the side nearest to Westminster Abbey has been moved some 100 yards away from the stop.
Much as the opportunity for a quick sprint between the new location of the shelter and the existing bus-stop to get to the stop, before the bus whizzes by is appreciated, yours truly is getting rather too old for such an exercise.
An answer giving us an insight into the reasoning behind why the shelter located at such a distance from the stop. The more so given there seems to have been no problem as to its previous whereabouts.
Buses serving Vauxhall Bus Station are mainly off their normal runs and in the case of Nos 2, 36, 185, are approaching Vauxhall Bridge Road via Millbank and turning right into Vauxhall Bridge Road before continuing on towards Victoria station.
It is a puzzle why the 88 does not also before then turn into John Islip Street and return to its normal route.
