• I WAS interested to read the letter from Jennifer Sheridan about the lack of response from Cities of London and Westminster MP Nickie Aiken to her letters, (It’s no use my contacting my MP – I get no response, October 23).

I know what she means. My first email, complimentary, obtained an office response on the MP’s behalf. My other two, less so, obtained no response at all.

I recall with some nostalgia the courtesy of the prompt and considered replies from Ms Aiken’s predecessor, the Right Honourable Mark Field.

As for those she left behind her on Westminster City Council, their past and present behaviour concerning the play area in Luxborough Street, Marylebone, indicates that little is to be expected in response to other matters of ongoing local value and relevant concern.
