• WHAT about the poor pedestrian?

You take your life in your hands trying to get around by foot in central London.

Priority is given to those on two wheels. Some cycle lanes pass too close for comfort next to pedestrians walking by on pavements.

No matter how alert you are there are e-scooters, bikes, on and off pavements, food delivery cyclists all flashing in front of you at speed.

There’s no consideration for people on foot, it’s just as if they don’t exist.

The area near the Aldwych by the Lyceum theatre is a case in point, a cycle lane which cuts right in front of the walkway. It’s asking for an accident to happen.

Cyclists see nothing wrong in jumping traffic lights, on to the nearest walkway, and in front of pedestrians.

Day after day, I witness gangs of youths careering down Oxford Street, often riding dangerously on both sides of the road, and in front of buses and cars.

Why is nothing done about this, or are all police employed on more important things?
