WFH to save on the sandwiches & booze bill?

• OUR partying prime minister wants us to stop working from home and there are, of course, very many good reasons for us to do as he wishes.

The main one is that a significant section of our economy relies on the mass transit of millions of us every working day from one place to another where we then have to spend our hard-earned cash on over-priced sandwiches / lunches, drink expensive faux-exotic coffees and then retire to crowded pubs to drown our sorrows in exorbitantly costly booze.

All of those working in catering and the transport industries have mouths to feed and deserve our consideration and support.

But for most of us deskilled drones the idea that some sort of creative spark of collegiality is extinguished by WFH is totally absurd.

And maybe – just maybe – this would be the ideal time to find a better way of organising and living our lives.

HW SMITH, N19
