• ALTHOUGH the decline in lockdown restrictions is to be welcomed, gradually disappearing is all the peace and quiet.

Gone are the sounds of the wind, the birds and the other wildlife. Instead back come the disco drivers, noisy motorcyclists and the zigzagging scooter riders.

And how can those playing loud pop music be considered safe road users? They would not hear someone calling to them to steer clear of a crash or to avoid reversing over a child or animal.

Is all this what we are all returning to?
