‘Sir Keir Starmer should work together with the other parties to achieve a fairer voting system’
• NOW it’s over 100,000 deaths, largely because of catastrophic mismanagement on top of 10 years of austerity.
The current first-past-the-post electoral system has given this government an 80-seat majority from under 44 per cent of the vote: it was not supported by most voters.
Unless this system is changed, the Tories are very likely to win again. This is too big a risk.
We must now adopt a fairer voting system that reflects the votes cast. It’s imperative that as the main opposition party, Labour leads on this.
Sir Keir Starmer should work together with the other parties to achieve a fairer voting system.
