Way back in the 1950s I guess there was a bit of an excuse for some whizz-bang pyrotechnics. It was a black and white world with not much else to visually engage us.

Surely new technology could supply a spectacle that doesn’t risk fire and injury and doesn’t make life a misery for pets and wildlife.
