‘Left helpless watching the growing numbers of ambulances queueing outside our hospitals’

• THIS latest government phony lockdown is a farce when compared with the stringent measures implemented during spring 2020.

While we are being told that our actions are causing the latest rise in Covid-19 infections, the government, unlike in other countries, has left our airports and ports of entry wide open and has failed to put in place strict testing and monitoring of all travellers; which has inevitably contributed to the rampant spread of the highly contagious coronavirus which will, unfortunately, prove to be fatal for thousands more of us before the vaccine arrives.

Yet again the government has chosen to prevaricate when what the public requires is positive, clear, guidance and action to combat this latest Covid-19 mutation; but instead of clarity we only get weak words like, we “advise” in place of mandatory, which may appease some of the prime minister’s party but leaves the general public confused and baffled by this lack of strong leadership.

We are left helpless watching the growing numbers of ambulances queueing outside our hospitals getting longer every day.
