Hampstead Hill Wanderers celebrate after lifting the Under-10s League Cup
IT was silverware Saturday in the Camden and Regent’s Park League with scores of teams celebrating as another scintillating season of youth football slowly draws to a close.
One of the most exciting matches at Regent’s Park saw Hampstead Hill Wanderers beat the odds – and Kentish Town Football Academy – to win the Under-10s League Cup. The game finished all-square at 1-1, with Wanderers then showing tremendous composure to win on penalties.
Priory Park Under-8s beat Totally Goal 4-1 to win in the ‘B’ Cup final
The youngest winners of the afternoon were Daryl’s Dragons, who got their hands on trophies and medals after winning a special Under-7s knockout competition.
London Soccer Stars Red Under-8s celebrate winning the ‘A’ Cup
There were also two top Under-8s teams celebrating success, with Islington-based London Soccer Stars (LSS) Red beating Queen’s Park Sharks 2-0 to win the “A” Cup, while Priory Park overcame Totally Goal 4-1 to win in the “B” Cup final.
Daryl’s Dragons won a special Under-7s knockout competition
The good news is that the action is far from over. There are more trophies up for grabs over the next two Saturdays with a host of cup finals and title deciders taking place at Regent’s Park before the curtain comes down on what has been a captivating campaign.
