THERE were gasps of “what a comeback” and “unbelievable stuff” on Saturday after players from Kentish Town FC staged a remarkable turnaround in the Regent’s Park Youth League.
The club’s spirited Under-13s squad (above) displayed fortitude beyond their years as they came from 3-1 down to topple Rugby Portobello Trust FC 4-3 in their Blue Cup final.
Hotshot Richie Morris typified Town’s excellent team effort by scoring a timely treble, while Beau Pearce was also on target in a victory that certainly put nervous parents on the sidelines through their paces.
With plenty of silverware up for grabs, it was a day for hat-trick heroes, mesmerising midfielders, defiant defenders and gallant goalkeepers.
