Covid-19 restrictions: ‘Discrimination against the hospitality industry’

• AS a hospitality owner trading in Soho – at Jazz After Dark – I am expressing my disappointment and frustration at being put in tier 3 lockdown for the hospitality industry.

Please explain how can I go to any supermarket, or any corner shop, buy any alcohol I like, drink on the streets, but I can’t go to any bar or restaurant where they operate social distancing.

At the same time I can shop in Oxford Street – no social distancing there – with many people crowding to get Christmas shopping.

This can only be described as discrimination against the hospitality industry bearing in mind we are the ones paying VAT and tax.

Please bear in mind we have financial commitments. You can go to a beauty salon and nail parlour, so what is the issue with the hospitality industry?
