• THE leader of Westminster City Council Rachael Robathan now insists that the Marble Arch Mound has become a “cult classic” seemingly akin to Mommie Dearest or The Rocky Horror Show.

If, as Cllr Robathan claims, more than 100,000 tourists have visited the Marble Arch horror show in just two months – and they estimated 200,000 for the whole six-month residency – this is surely now the time to monetise it and charge an entry fee.

If they have ineptly produced a Glen or Glenda-style cult classic the city council could now demonstrate some financial business sense so sorely lacking to date.

Given those exceptional visitor figures, and with the “horror mound” due to stay for a further four months, the cash tills could be jingling well into the Christmas season and offer some little cheer to taxpayers who have had £6million squandered.
