‘All public toilets owned by London Underground and TfL rail are free of charge’

• I AGREE with the principle of Peter Cave’s letter, (TfL should make loo use free at Piccadilly, June 22). There certainly is a lack of free public toilets throughout London.

However in fairness to Transport for London, it should be pointed out that the public toilets at Piccadilly Circus, which Mr Cave mentions, are owned and operated by Westminster City Council, which owns the subway.

The same goes for those at Green Park station. All public toilets owned by London Underground and TfL rail are free of charge.

It should be noted, too, that while free toilets are now available at those national rail stations run by Network Rail, at other stations that are operated by train operating companies, charges may still apply.
