Hampstead and Kilburn candidate Johnny Luk

• THE trouble for anyone standing for the Conserv­ative party anywhere must now be its leaders – Boris Johnson is portraying MPs as the enemies of the people and despises them so much he and his cabinet colleagues have expressed their determination to foil an act legitimately passed by MPs, making the point most effectively that MPs’ work should be viewed as pure trash.

So it is hard to know why Hampstead and Kilburn candidate Johnny Luk even wants to be an MP. He doesn’t come over as a self-hater or masochist. Perhaps he could explain that to us.
