The tone of this inquest report concerned me

Angela Pascale
• I WRITE to express concern at the tone of your newspaper’s report of the sad death of Holborn resident, the late Angela Pascale, (Open verdict on death of transgender stylist, June 10).
Your article and headline focus upon the word “transgender” and the word woman is not mentioned at all.
Surely the fact that Miss Pascale died alone and had lived with severe depression is far more important than the first paragraph of your report’s emphasis upon her former occupations as a hair stylist, medium and sex worker?
The fact that Miss Pascale had been the victim of transphobic abuse while in public is a pertinent reminder of the discrimination and harassment to which many women, whether cisgender or trans+, are subjected on a regular basis.
