The road to bad habits

Exhaust diesel fumes

With engine abuse, the peace and quiet has gone

• THE post-lockdown period has witnessed the return of the hooting, beeping, revving, and “stuttering” of cars and motorbikes.

Our familiar peace and quiet is gradually disappearing and is being replaced by the anger and aggressiveness of certain kinds of
drivers and riders.

“Engine abuse” is once again commonplace. Yet the present time is now a valuable opportunity to assess the situation and to seek out changes in the law and in road users’ behaviour.

Let us hope that the police and other law enforcers will be especially vigilant at this crucial time and that they can correct those falling back upon bad habits.
