Jade Mutua

• I HAVE just read your report about the untimely death of Jade Mutua, (Family of woman hit by police car to see evidence, April 8) and am appalled that a supposedly highly trained police driver could think that it was acceptable to drive at 64mph a matter of yards from a major, traffic light-controlled junction with nine lanes of traffic and all the High Street Kensington pedestrians.

I am a professional driver and if I had been responsible for a death in such a manner, I would be expecting a prison sentence. There is no excuse for driving at that speed. Full stop.
