• ZEKRIA IBRAHIMI was upset at the British Museum’s failure to return the Benin Bronzes to Nigeria, contrasting it with France’s promise to do so, (Mine is a T-shirt against the stuck up British Museum, May 6).

Perhaps she could persuade president Emmanuel Macron to return some of the great art which Napoleon plundered from Italy; but then the Louvre would lose many of its treasures – as Napoleon claimed “we now have everything that is a work of art in Italy”, much of which it has kept.
