The 46 bus route is important and needs sorting out

• FURTHER to reports of the appalling spacing of buses on the No 46 bus route, the situation has not improved.

I recently had a most enjoyable bus journey on this route from the Royal Free Hospital to Hampstead tube station. I felt privileged to be the sole passenger during the whole journey.

Not surprisingly I noticed another 46 bus a little way in front. I discussed this with the driver, commenting about buses travelling in tandem followed by lengthy gaps.

He gave me a reason. Namely that certain drivers were regularly turning up late on this route; consequently the bus in front was running late whereas he, being a punctual person, was on time.

Firm action needs to be taken. It is unacceptable the way this route is being managed. The No 46 bus is an important service essential for many patients at the Royal Free and indeed the other hospitals en route.
