• FANTASTIC news if, like me, you’re struggling to pay for gym membership… Transport for London is providing a mobile sauna for passengers to use this summer.

It’s almost free – just the price of a bus ticket – and open 24/7. NB, it is mixed, not single sex, so you might prefer to wear a swimsuit and take a couple of towels as, after a short while inside, you’ll be sweating profusely. Excellent for detoxing after a night out.

You may have known this as the 24 bus, and it even takes the same route. Would not recommend to use it if you’re going to work, on your way to an interview, going to a date or even to the shops. Who wants to arrive drenched in sweat, feeling faint and a bit smelly? But if you don’t need to get anywhere, do try this affordable sauna.

I used to wonder, why did they design a new bus that is even hotter than its predecessor? But now I’ve realised it’s not for transport, it’s a “spa experience” which TfL and Boris generously provided at a mere £350k per bus – oops, sauna cabin. Thanks, TfL! Next, how about adding a nail bar?
