Norway’s gift for Trafalgar Square

• FURTHER to Extra’s report (Spruce in the square, December 2), the Trafalgar Square tree – pictured above unlit – is beautiful.

What now makes it look thin and skimpy is the design of the tree lights, which ignores the shape of the tree.

The lights are in straight lines from top to bottom, something I have never seen on any other tree. It is dreadful.

Designers, follow the shape of the tree and it will be breathtaking.
