Team Camden shine at London Youth Games
Athletes finish 12th in the Jubilee Trophy rankings out of 33 boroughs

The boys’ ParaGames football squad from Regent High School in Somers Town scooped silver medals after powering their way to the grand final
YOUNGSTERS took part in 31 different sports throughout this season’s London Youth Games, helping Team Camden finish 12th in the Jubilee Trophy rankings out of 33 London boroughs.
Runner Alex Pettican won silver in the 1,500m
Highlights included the squash squad, who train at Cumberland Lawn Tennis Club in West Hampstead, improve on their second-place finish from last year by winning gold.

There was also a mighty medal haul for martial artists from Mike’s Judo Club. Brothers Zac and Josh Zobell both struck gold, while Maddie Cummings won a bronze medal.

In the athletics, Emma Hofstrom won gold in the shot put, while speedster Alex Pettican scooped silver in the 1,500m.
Peyton Parker bagged a bronze medal in the kayak slalom event
Other individual successes saw swimmer Jemima Da Silva win a silver medal in the 50m breaststroke, Peyton Parker bag a bronze in the kayak slalom, and Georgia Surtees earn a bronze in the BMX.

Camden also impressed in the ParaGames. Made up of pupils from Regent High School in Somers Town, the boys’ football team scooped silver medals, while the girls’ football team collected bronze medals.

In the athletics event, star athletes, also from Regent High School, added to Camden’s glory. Ayman Hayat won gold in the shot put and 100m wheelchair race; Ayman Ahmed won gold in the 100m; Arianna Barnett won gold in the 100m; Inara Jea-Baptiste won gold in the shot put; Alfie Husband won silver in the 100m and the long jump and Emma Ursu won bronze in the long jump.
