Bring the madness that is HS2 to a halt

• ON behalf of the tree protectors, activists and rebels may I thank the residents of Camden for the warm welcome we have received since we established our tree protection camp in front of Euston station on Friday.

The warm messages of support and the even warmer blankets, sleeping bags and tents that have been donated have been very much appreciated.

The proposed destruction of 53 trees for a temporary taxi rank to serve the increasingly ridiculous white elephant that is HS2 ought to make the Secretary of State for Transport hang his head in shame.

We look forward over the coming days, weeks and months to getting to know the residents, councillors and MPs of the borough and working with them to ensure the preservation of your trees and bringing the madness that is HS2 to a halt.
