Sunday is good for religious duty and civic duty

• I AGREE with Atsuko McCarthy that it is totally wrong to close schools on Thursdays for elections, (Never on a Sunday, Letters, May 4). I have long disagreed with this and for that reason opted for a postal vote years ago.
I once asked David Cameron why he didn’t modernise by going for Sundays. The response was one of those typically ill-thought-out ones: “Because it has been like that for many years.” So no need to change.
Sunday is a perfect election day. Go to Mass and do your duty to God, as I do, then go and vote to do your civic duty. Wake up England.
