Cycling bike

‘Other road users (taxis, cars, and motorbikes) obey the rules of the road. Why can’t cyclists?’

• I HAVE just got home and breathed a sigh of relief – having been almost mown down by a maniacal cyclist on a “Boris bike” at the zebra crossing on Judd Street (North).

At rush hour this crossing now exists for purely decorative purposes for cyclists. None of them stop as required by law.

Instead they grudgingly weave in and around pedestrians thereby breaking the law and endangering us.

This can be unnerving and is clearly dangerous, especially for the elderly and infirm. Many local residents now fear crossing there during rush hour.

Other road users (taxis, cars, and motorbikes) obey the rules of the road. Why can’t cyclists?

Do they believe that they are somehow exempt? Are they so self-righteous they consider themselves above the law?

Where are the police to enforce it? I read somewhere that they are paid (by us) to do so. Perhaps they are too busy sharing the details of gruesome murders on social media.

Why should residents have to cross in fear? It is time for the forces of law and order in Camden to put a stop to these lawless road hogs.
