• RORY Stewart is an ideal candidate for Mayor of London as he makes no promises he cannot keep.

We will see realistic house-building targets, for once, as this is a man proven to walk among the people to hear their concerns and opinions. Let’s have a mayor who listens and acts rather than sound-bite promises.

Stewart would face down Transport for London and their cuts to public transport and even get them to listen to the travelling public rather than ignore the results of consultations.

Transport for London have a patronising attitude to those who challenge their negative actions, so vote for an independent mayor for London and not a party-political placement.
