Soho Radio’s July 13 party was ear-splitting

Friday, 20th July 2018

• SOHO Radio, who purport to support the local community, have a funny way of going about this if the bedlam they caused on the night of the July 13 is anything to go by.

They imported a colossal sound system on the back of an articulated lorry, blocked the junction of Great Windmill Street with Brewer Street, and proceeded to blast their neighbours with a street party, shaking the foundations of nearby buildings with an ear-splitting din.

The sound of a halfwit shattering the peace of the entire neighbourhood by bellowing from the back of the lorry that “the streets are our streets” and other such fatuous sloganeering on behalf of a community radio station is beyond satire.

To add insult to injury they then posted a sarcastic Instagram message thanking the authorities for giving them permission to do this. If this is their way of representing the community it would be preferable if they didn’t bother.
