‘Is Sir Keir against the expulsion of socialists or has he changed his beliefs?’

• THE July 17 Daily Mirror reported that Labour’s national executive committee will be asked to kick out of the party various socialist groups, including Jewish Voice for Labour.

On January 9 2020 you printed a letter from party member Martin Plaut commending Sir Keir Starmer for leader, (Have your say in Labour’s future).

Noting his forensic intellectual qualities he continued: “But I support him for a rather different reason: Sir Keir Starmer’s socialism.

“This runs deep. He is a man steeped in the socialist tradition that springs from the earliest days of the Labour Party.”

Is Sir Keir against the expulsion of socialists or has he changed his beliefs?
