Social distancing is a critical issue
Friday, 24th April 2020
• THE continued lack of attention given to social distancing by so many people who are out walking and cycling on Primrose Hill and Regent’s Park, together with the pavements and roads around these green spaces, is absolutely breathtaking.
There are still those who seem to think the social distancing advice does not apply to them.
Camden Council are doing a heroic job to support the most vulnerable shielding at home, but we need the help of visible marshals to instruct people about their responsibilities to stay at least two metres – 6ft 6ins – away from others.
Without this help, we are all vulnerable through what can only be ignorance or indifference as we try to follow government guidance to get exercise to preserve our general and mental health.
The Royal Parks need to do their part too. Maybe outdoor space will need to be rationed to spread everyone out. This is literally a critical life-threatening issue.
