It’s time to end the crisis in the NHS – once and for all

Nurses’ industrial action at St Mary’s in February

• I WAS deeply concerned to learn that the government have broken their promise to refurbish and extend St Mary’s, Paddington, Hammersmith, and Charing Cross hospitals.

Officials have sounded the alarm that further delays to investment at St Mary’s, as host to one of London’s busiest trauma centres, could have a serious impact on the health of hundreds of thousands of Londoners.

You would expect our MP to stand up for local health services, but the silence from Nickie Aiken is deafening. It’s on her government’s watch that waiting times have lengthened, and patient satisfaction has slumped to record lows.

Our National Health Service, patients, and our brilliant health care workers, deserve so much better, and only Labour will act to solve the endless Tory crisis in the NHS once and for all.

Residents urgently need an MP for who will fight to put patients first, and I would urge everyone to sign my petition at www.rachelblake.org.uk/hospital calling on the secretary of state to rethink this terrible decision.
