• I AM appalled to hear that it has cost over £2.4million of taxpayers’ money to paint and refurbish the residence of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Surely they can afford to pay the cost themselves.

Do they not have any principles at all and empathy for the people who are still sleeping in the streets in large numbers and who have no flat or house at all, let alone the poorest in society who cannot even afford a pot of paint to redecorate a room?

Shame on them and those who allow it while others have to struggle and strive just to put food in their mouths.
