Francois Xavier Roth conducts the LSO playing Debussy at the Barbican on January 21 and January 25
• The centenary of Debussy’s death is being marked by two London Symphony Orchestra concerts conducted by François-Xavier Roth at the Barbican next week. This Sunday (January 21), there’s the UK premiere of a previously lost work by the young Debussy alongside music by the composer’s earliest inspirations, including Lalo’s cello concerto performed by Edgar Moreau. Then, next Thursday (January 25), some of Debussy’s greatest impressionistic orchestral scores are being performed, including Prelude a l’apre-midi, Jeux and Nocturnes.

• The London A Capella Festival opens next Wednesday (January 24) evening with a performance by Estonian Voices at Kings Place. The award-winning sextet combine jazz, folk and pop to create awe-inspiring original compositions as well as arrangements of worldwide hits. • Ian Page is returning with The Mozartists to the Wigmore Hall next Tuesday evening (January 23), presenting a diverse and illuminating overview of the musical year 1768.
