• NOW aged 95, like other elderly and disabled persons, I am very grateful for the dedicated reliability and speed with which Camden’s street cleaners have kept our pavements free from the fallen and slippery wet leaves which can contribute to our falls.

Let us ensure that they are among our other greatly valued health, welfare and community workers who the chancellor promises to protect from a wage freeze or worse.

Street cleaners already suffer from low poor pay and our present, continuing and future struggle for social justice should include representation for those who are too often voiceless.
