Sadiq Khan has undermined our integrated bus services

• THE promised delivery of Crossrail falls behind with every new revelation of its infrastructure failure.
The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, who claims to have known nothing of these problems, pitched his Oxford Street pedestrianisation project on the necessity of coping with the increased Crossrail footfall.
Although his plan was overwhelmingly rejected the mayor has continued to undermine our integrated bus service by axing popular routes completely, rerouting buses and extending waiting times by reducing busy services.
The current protest by Revolution Extinction demonstrates the chaos caused by cutting off access to main thoroughfares, as the mayor originally proposed, which only results in increased traffic congestion and pollution in the side streets.
It is all well and good to suggest more people use public transport but a dumb policy when you’ve decimated our bus network.
Transport for London’s consultations are a sham as they simply ignore all objections because they merely want to save money at the expense of the travelling public.
