Oumou Sangare

THE Roundhouse’s eclectic series of In The Round shows continue until February 10 with a line-up of unique performances from the likes of Oumou Sangare, Jimmy Webb, Nadine Shah, Portico Quartet, Levellers, GoGo Penguin, and Chip (aka Chipmunk) and Beth Orton.

47SOUL

• Arab electronic hip-hop supergroup 47SOUL, whose members come from Palestine and Jordan, release their full-length debut album Balfron Promise on February 2, marked by a special show at Jazz Café on the same date. The album’s name is a nod to the London tower where they were temporarily based, a favoured music video location.

Saints of Sin

• Saints of Sin promise a blistering set of rock and soaring guitar riffs at their Dublin Castle gig on Feb 3.

• We’ve heard the buzz about the hip-hop brunch but how about a UK Garage brunch with genuine Garage DJs The Artful Dodger, DJ Cartier and MC DT? Head down to the launch at Proud Camden from midday on Feb 3 for a menu of UK Garage, rap battles, games, fancy dress and bottomless BIRD fried chicken, rum punch and brandy and cokes, topped off with doughnuts and brownies.

The Tannahill Weavers

• Scottish Folk band The Tannahill Weavers play Heath Street Baptist Church on Feb 6 as part of their 50th anniversary tour.

• The subject of this month’s Dublin Castle Rock And Roll Book Club on Feb 7 is Suede: Love & Poison: The Official Biography by David Barnett. Author David Barnett will be in conversation with Julie Hamill.
