Jailed: Jamie Farrell
A MOPED robber whose gang used sledgehammers to smash through a display in a West End store was sentenced to eight years behind bars on Monday.
Jamie Farrell, 31, from Barnsbury, was part of a group of six men on three mopeds and a motorbike who carried out a morning raid at Watches of Switzerland in Regent Street on June 5.
The terrifying attack saw a moped rammed into the doors of the store to prevent them closing while three men in crash helmets attacked display cases with sledgehammers, taking £440,000 worth of watches.
Half a dozen Rolex watches were recovered at an address in Islington near the spot where a moped was abandoned.
