THROUGH current music reference and colloquialisms, Aisha (Halema Hussain) and Yasmin (Nyla Levy) playfully draw us into their social media-fuelled, boy-obsessed world, rebelling against a traditional play structure and using direct address that augments their adolescent image.
This reflective structure creates an arena to discuss racial profiling and immigration, echoed through the device of Morgan/Actor 3 (Eleanor Williams) whose hyper-realism allows the piece to navigate issues of appropriation.
While slightly undeveloped in a few of its themes, Does my Bomb Look Big in This? provides an important access point to an often mishandled subject matter.
