Euston’s lost arch

• TO my utter consternation and profound shock, the Lendlease vision for the land around Euston fails to include the once-promised reconstructed Euston Triumphal Arch, (New transport secretary could hand Euston land to developers – even if HS2 is abandoned, August 29).

We are talking about the Arch destroyed by British Rail and the signature of a barbaric Tory Prime Minister. This despite significant opposition from Sir John Betjeman.

Parts of the Arch remain intact. North London is short of Triumphal Arches. We need a Triumphal Arch, through which Cllr Georgia Gould could journey in epic Roman-Empire style.

There are multiple Triumphal Arches in Paris. Restore The Euston Arch!
