Reckless delivery riders

• ON Sunday night, viewed from the front top deck of a 24 bus coming up Charing Cross Road and Tottenham Court Road, it was dark and pouring with rain, Deliveroo riders were everywhere – like ants – dashing along pavements, crossing roads, cutting corners, going through red lights, darting everywhere in front of traffic, all at high speed and all riding without lights.
I presume they all use their own cycles but whatever the circumstances they are blatantly breaking the law and must be terrifying to bus drivers, motorists and pedestrians who can barely see them in these conditions.
When I contacted Deliveroo to complain, they assured me that all of their delivery cyclists were road safety trained. I find this response incredible.
Not one of their Deliveroo cyclists obey the rules of the road: they are so focused on getting to their destination and back for another order they don’t care how they get there.
They should not be employed until they can prove (independently) they are road-safe, pavement-avoiding, and law-abiding. The police should take an interest but they have enough to do as it is.
