• “GONE for good? Virus crisis leaves our pubs on the brink”, (News, January 14), and we’re told theatres and cinemas may close for good, too. No chance!

Humans will make sure there are boozers and theatres just so long as we can get out to them. And while we can’t its up to government to enable those thrown out of work to survive.
