Protest against this corrupt government while you can

‘The Elections Bill is a blatant attempt to rig the next general election and mayoral elections in favour of the Tories’
• THIS lying and corrupt government is also an authoritarian one determined to take away our freedoms with a series of oppressive bills.
The Nationality and Borders Bill extends powers to strip Britons of their citizenship without notice. This could affect many of those who were born abroad, or with immigrant parents. of whom there are many in Camden.
The policing bill attempts to curtail our democratic right to protest, and, taken together with the nationality bill will make many fearful of exercising their right to peaceful protest.
The Elections Bill is a blatant attempt to rig the next general election and mayoral elections in favour of the Tories. It will introduce legislation on voter ID that amounts to voter suppression and will undermine the independence of the Electoral Commission.
It will introduce first past the post for mayoral elections (to give the Tories the advantage there that they already hold in the current parliamentary system).
For now, we can still make our voices heard through protest. I hope that many will do so by joining the rally against the Elections Bill on Saturday February 5 in Parliament Square from noon to 2pm.
