THE Labour shadow education secretary surprised students at Marylebone Boys School as they picked up their results yesterday, Thursday.
Bridget Phillipson was accompanied, left, by Rachel Blake, Labour’s candidate for the Cities of London and Westminster constituency, as they met sixth-formers at MBS.
This year saw a particularly strong showing in STEM subjects – science, technology, engineering, and maths – and all students who sat further mathematics gained an A*.

Deputy headteacher Paul Green said: “These young men and women are fully deserving of their results as a reflection of the effort and dedication they have shown over the last two years.”
Ms Blake praised the MBS students and said: “They’ve achieved outstanding things despite the pressure that they’ve been under and the challenges they faced.”
Hundreds of teenagers across the borough ripped open their slips, including at St Augustine’s CE High School in Maida Vale.
