People are more important than the giant banks and corporations

• I COULDN’T agree more with your Comment last week, (Let streets reflect those who live in the neighbourhood, June 30).
Massive ads posing as street art for big hamburger chains are a blot on the community’s landscape and when resources for ordinary people were more plentiful this would not have been countenanced. After all, we might like hamburgers but nobody likes them that much!
Central government squeezes local authority funding while they help billionaires commit pathological tax avoidance to the detriment of our community infrastructures. Commerce is important, of course, but us people are much more so.
And we are much too important to be turned into mere components for giant corporation and bank machinery churning out riches which they then hoard in tax havens for their own exclusive benefit.
