Our streets are filthy and we should teach children not to litter
Thursday, 19th July 2018
• I THOROUGHLY agreed with Atsuko McCarthy, (Parents must teach children not to litter our street, July 12).
I have been concerned about the carelessness and absolute ignorance of some people who seem to think Camden’s streets are a litter bin.
Of course, parents should teach their children about littering the streets. I see lots of rubbish strewn about daily including food, dog faeces, plastic bottles etc.
My two children were taught not to throw rubbish in the streets and if they could not find a suitable bin just to put it in their pockets or bags and bring it home to dispose of in the right way. Britain is fast becoming the dustbin of Europe.
I despair of the way that people litter up the streets in Camden with that can’t-care-less attitude. What sort of society are we becoming?
Parents, please note, teach your children to respect the streets and environment, it does not cost money. Give them a responsible example.
