OSCAR winner Mark Rylance is starring in a world premiere at the Marylebone Theatre.

Tartuffe (Remixed) – a joyful celebration of faith, family forgiveness – is on for seven weeks from September 4.

The Darren Raymond-directed show features a wealth of up and coming from the Intermission Youth troupe.

Mr Rylance (above), who won an Oscar for his portrayal of Rudolf Abel in Bridge of Spies, said: “Since 2009 I’ve adored Darren Raymond’s productions of Shakespeare, created for his Intermission Youth theatre company.

“So I’m very excited to work with him directing Intermission Ensemble, a professional company, remixing Molière’s satirical masterpiece.

“Darren’s genius for language and humour guarantees this will be a Tartuffe like no other. Our early rehearsals have been hilarious. The mix of a corrupt English missionary in a contemporary Nigerian-Jamaican family culture is bringing out the authentic cadence and revolutionary meaning of this classic play.”

Hundreds of tickets have been priced at £30 or below and there is a lottery for seats about £20.
