• THE Pimlico Million is a resident-led funding and community development organisation, funded by the Big Local.

We have been given £1million to spend over 10 years to provide community-led projects, support and development.

We found that most people loved living here but there are areas that we need to work with residents to improve on: youth, families, gardening and open spaces, training and older people.

The Pimlico Million area is located in south Westminster. Approximately 8,500 people live in this area and a large number of households are made up of older people and families with children.

Included in this area is:

• Ebury Bridge Estate. l Chelsea Gardens Estate including Wellington Buildings, Chelsea Gate Apartments, Gatliff Close Estate & Chelsea Manor Buildings.

• The Grosvenor Waterside development.

• The Churchill Gardens Estate.

• Peabody Avenue Estate & Close.

We are now in year five of our story and over time we have funded some truly wonderful projects:

– We teamed up with community festival Southwest Fest to produce a youth event in collaboration with local youth organisations, the Octavia Foundation, St Andrew’s Youth Club, Outbreak, Dream Arts, Chelsea Art School, & Churchill Gardens Residents’ Association.

– T-shirt design workshops the Caxton Youth Club, enabling local young people to create and sell their own designs.

– Seed funding to a new community digital radio station which will offer training and guidance to all those who want to take part and get involved in running the station – Pimlico Free Radio in Churchill Gardens.

– Gardening projects in Peabody, Ebury & Wellington Garden estates.

AS part of The Pimlico Million Christmas celebrations, a group of Pimlico Musical Foundation carollers will perform festive favourites in the following areas on Sunday December 20: 2pm-2.15pm, Chelsea Garden & Wellington Buildings; 2.25pm-2.40pm, Gatliff; 2.55pm-3.10pm, Ebury Bridge Estate.
