A parliament of fragile promises

A POLITICIAN’S promise is a fragile flower:
Just touch it and it fades away.
First, “We will do everything in our power”
Then, “But we can’t, alas, today”.
So if you don’t want a nasty surprise
Best to suppose such promises are lies.
